Run the Test 04 — Elizabeth Elevated, ‘22 CrossFit Games

“It’s probably true that a lot of (the community has) done Elizabeth in some way, at some point. … But, I know what it feels like to be in that set of 15, looking at the bar and saying, ‘How many more?’ And the audience does, too. So bringing that to the big stage, it shows that we’ve all been there and this is a sport that truly is participatory and it’s not just the high-level athletes that get to reap the benefits from it.” — Adrian Bozman, Competition Director

The sport of CrossFit is a subset of the activity of CrossFit, and therefore, “constantly varied functional movements executed at a high intensity” are seen within tests in every stage of the CrossFit Games season, just as you see in your everyday workout.

Elevated Elizabeth — a take on the classic benchmark workout Elizabeth — replaced ring dips with a dip and traverse on the parallel bars. While they hadn’t been seen in competition at the Games in that way specifically, parallel bars have been around since the start of CrossFit.

Competition Director Adrian Bozman brings us back to the basics in this episode of “Run the Test.” Dig into the methodology behind training for sport and training as an everyday athlete, testing for adaptability, and the benefits of benchmark workouts for athletes of all levels.

Take a look at behind the scenes footage of athletes trying out this new challenge and how it all played out on the main stage.
