Teenager Jace Peck on the AGOQ: “I’m Ready For It”

Sean Woodland catches up with teenage athlete Jace Peck about his CrossFit beginnings and the possibility of competing at the Games for the first time.

Peck, 16, started CrossFit through a kids class at his local affiliate. He decided to train competitively after realizing he had potential.

Four-time Fittest Woman on Earth Tia-Clair Toomey and the Mayhem athletes are a few competitors Peck says he looks up to.

“What they do is crazy,” Peck says, “and it really inspires me to do the best I can do, too.”

Peck’s goal this year is to qualify for the 2021 Games, and he’s off to a good start. He placed second worldwide in the 2021 Open in the Boys 16-17 division and says he feels confident going into the Online Qualifier.

This will be Peck’s first Games appearance if he qualifies, and he says the opportunity would “mean the world to [him].”

“It’s been three years in the making,” Peck says, “and this year, I really feel like I have a great chance.”
