From the beginning, the race for first place in Double DT was between Jacob Heppner, Travis Williams, and rookie Sam Kwant. Ultimately, it was Kwant’s consistent pace and nearly unbroken reps — usually marks of a seasoned competitor rather than a rookie — that landed him a first-place finish in his heat and overall in the event.
