It’s Week 4 of the 2018 Open and Jordan Shalhoub is taking a road trip to CrossFit Inferno in San Luis Obispo, California, to hit the workout and hang out with James and Bill Grundler.
“I’m excited but nervous because 205 lb. is heavy, and I don’t know what I’m going to feel like after Diane.”
“If there is a way to make a movement easier, widening your hands on a handstand push-up for example, stepping up out of the burpee, you can probably count on Dave Castro not allowing you to do it. So, maybe you should not do it in training. … Train the hardest version of a movement, so when it shows up in the Open, you’re ready.”
“If you want to be up for the challenge when the Open comes around, you have to challenge yourself all year round.”
Over the course of the weekend, Shalhoub and friends discuss strategy and make adjustments to their approach to the workout.
