This week, Jordan Shalhoub visits Depot CrossFit in Echo Park, California, to face off against Open Workout 18.3.
“I honestly don’t know how to feel about this workout. I like it and I’m excited, but it could either go really well, or be a total shit show,” said Shalhoub. “The only thing I do know is that we are going into this workout with a positive attitude. … We’re going to go in and give it our best and see what happens.”
“It was both more fun and more painful than I anticipated,” Shalhoub said.
“A lot of people have a bad attitude about this workout. We’re not here for it. … First of all, a bad attitude is not going to help you in any workout. But second of all, the Open is about pushing yourself and challenging yourself as an athlete and striving for new heights, and that’s what this workout is doing for you. How many people just got their first ring muscle-up? How many people just got their first double-under? How many people just got their their first pull-up, and maybe, without this workout, would not have been pushed to do so?”
