Here’s your guide.

1. Find a CrossFit affiliate.

To make it to the CrossFit Games, you need to do CrossFit.

Learn about CrossFit by reading “What is Fitness?” "Foundations" "The Garage Gym" and other classic articles by coach Greg Glassman.

Or get started by joining a class at a CrossFit gym near you. There are over 14,000 affiliates worldwide.

2. Start training.

Get familiar with the movements common in CrossFit workouts.

3. Sign up for the Open in mid-January.

The CrossFit Games has a two-stage qualification process.

Stage 1: The Open. An online five-week, five-workout competition that typically runs from late February through March. Registration starts in mid-January. Anyone can sign up. 

Stage 2: Regionals. The top men, women, and teams from each region in the Open advance to Regionals. These three-day competitions determine who will advance to the CrossFit Games.

4. Do your research.

The CrossFit Games are similar to the Olympics. The athletes who qualify are the world's best and have differentiated themselves from hundreds of thousands of competitors. For most qualifiers, it's the culmination of years of incredible effort and commitment.
