NOTES
Prior to starting this event, each athlete will need to create a long straight line on the floor and place their burpee barbell on the center of that line.
This event begins with the dumbbell on the floor and the athlete standing tall. After the call of “3, 2, 1 … go,” the athlete may perform 100 alternating dumbbell snatches, followed by 50 calories on the rower, and finally, 100 bar-facing burpees. Receiving any assistance other than turning on the rower is not permitted unless safety is an immediate concern.
The athlete’s score will be the total time it takes to complete the entire event or the total number of repetitions completed before the 20-minute time cap. There is no tiebreak for this event. Do NOT use a countdown timer.

1 of 8Every rep of the dumbbell snatch starts with both heads of the dumbbell on the ground. The dumbbell must be lifted overhead in one motion. A clean and jerk is NOT allowed. Athletes must alternate arms after each repetition and may not alternate until a successful rep is completed. Deliberately bouncing the dumbbell is not allowed. The non-lifting hand and arm may not be in contact with the body during the repetition.2 of 8The rep is credited when the dumbbell is locked out overhead, with the hips, knees, and arm fully extended, and the dumbbell directly over, or slightly behind, the middle of the body. The repetition must be clearly locked out before the athlete switches hands. Split snatches are permitted.3 of 8The Concept2 monitor must be set to zero at the beginning of the row.4 of 8The athlete must stay seated on the rower until the monitor reads 50 calories. If the athlete is working up to the 20-minute mark, the final pull must be completed at or before the time cap. The athlete will receive credit for the calories displayed when the monitor comes to a complete stop (i.e., the athlete will get credit for the rollover calories displayed on the monitor).5 of 8For the bar-facing burpee: Must use a barbell with 18-inch plates. Must perform burpees perpendicular to and facing the barbell.6 of 8May jump or step back to reach the bottom position. Chest and thighs must touch the ground and head must be behind the barbell. The center of the chest must be on the line, and the feet and hands must straddle the line in the bottom position. Stepping and/or jumping back to the starting position are both permitted.7 of 8Must use a two-foot takeoff to jump over the barbell. Single-legged jumping or stepping over is not permitted.8 of 8The rep is credited when both feet have touched the ground on the opposite side of the barbell. No need to land with both feet at the same time. If a “no rep” is received for any reason, the entire rep must be repeated.
