Workout Details

  1. Team Event 1 - Water Worm

    Points Available: 100 points
    Location: Hermosa Beach Pier
    Wednesday morning

    For time of:
    75 Worm deadlifts
    500-yard swim with rescue sled
    50 Worm deadlifts
    500-yard swim with rescue sled
    25 Worm deadlifts

    Teams will begin by performing 75 deadlifts with the Worm. They will then run under the pier to their rescue sleds, and swim the sled around the pier and back to the beach. They will then perform 50 deadlifts with the Worm, swim the sled back around the pier, and finish with another 25 deadlifts with the Worm. The event is complete once the last deadlift rep is complete and the entire team crosses the finish line.

    The Worm weighs 435 lb. total and is made up of 80-65-75-60-70-55-lb. sections (front to back) with 6-lb. filler bags between each section.

    Time cap: 55 minutes

     

  2. Points Available: 100 points
    Location: StubHub Center
    Wednesday afternoon

    For time:
    6 x 1-mile run relay

    Team members will run the course one at a time, tagging the next athlete after they finish. The event is complete when the last team member crosses the finish line.

  3. Points Available: 100 points
    Location: Soccer Stadium
    Friday morning

    For time:
    Run 600 meters
    25 Worm squats 
    Run 600 meters
    50 Worm squats
    Run 600 meters
    75 Worm squats

    Teams will begin on the stadium floor and will run a lap up and over the berm. Once the entire team has returned to their Worm they will pick it up and perform 25 squats, advancing forward midway through. They will then set the Worm down and begin the run for the second round. In Round 2, they will perform 50 squats, advancing midway through, and in Round 3 they will perform 75 squats, advancing midway through the reps. The event is complete when the last rep of the Worm squat is complete and the team crosses the finish line.

    The Worm weighs 435 lb. total and is made up of 80-65-75-60-70-55-lb. sections (front to back) with 6-lb. filler bags between each section.

  4. Points Available: 3 50-point events
    Location: Soccer Stadium
    Friday morning

    For time, each pair will complete a couplet of:
    545-lb. partner deadlifts (275 lb. + 45-lb. barbell + 225 lb.)
    Synchronized bar muscle-ups

    Synchros 21: MF pair 1 completes 21 reps
    Synchros 14-7: MF pair 2 completes 14-7 reps
    Synchros 8-7-6: MF pair 3 completes 8-7-6 reps

    This event begins with the first male/female pair performing 21 deadlifts then advancing to the rig to perform 21 synchronized bar muscle-ups. Once the first pair completes their final muscle-ups they will cross the finish line to finish the event. Once all teams have finished Synchros 21, the next pair of athletes will line up and begin Synchros 14-7, performing in the same fashion, but with the reps broken into two sets of 14 and 7. The third pair will perform Synchros 8-7-6, with the reps being broken into three sets of 8, 7 and 6.

    Synchros 21, 14-7 and 8-7-6 will be scored as three separate events.

  5. Points Available: 2 100-point events

    Saturday morning

    1-rep-max clean and jerk

    One event will be the scored as the sum of the heaviest lifts by the male members. One event will be the scored as the sum of the heaviest lifts by the female members. 

    Time cap: 2:30 per athlete

  6. Points Available: 2 100-point events
    Location: Soccer Stadium
    Saturday morning

    For time:
    100-ft. weighted lunge (300 / 225-lb. Slug)
    40 wall-ball shots each, performed simultaneously (30 / 20 lb.)
    100-ft. handstand walk
    40 wall-ball shots each, performed simultaneously (30 / 20 lb.)
    100-ft. weighted lunge (300 / 225-lb. Slug)

    Event 9 - Male Chipper: MMM
    Event 10 - Female Chipper: FFF

    The three male athletes will perform Event 9, then the three females will perform Event 10. The event begins with all three athletes lunging the Slug (similar to the Worm) down the field. Each athlete will then perform 40 wall-ball shots, then will each handstand walk 100 feet (broken into 50-foot unbroken sections). They will then each complete another 40 wall-ball shots, and finish by lunging the Slug down the field and over the finish line.

    Men’s Slug consists of three 100-lb. sections
    Women’s Slug consists of three 75-lb. sections

    Time cap: 12 minutes

     
  7. Points Available: 100 points

    Location: Soccer Stadium

    Saturday morning

     

    For time:

    300-ft. Big Bob push (150 down, 150 back)

     

    Teams will push the Big Bob sled 150 ft. down the field, turn around, and push it back 150 ft. and across the finish line.

     

    Time cap: 7 minutes

     

  8. Points Available: 100 points
    Location: Soccer Stadium
    Sunday morning

    For time:
    Three athletes complete:
     50-ft. tire flip
     20 tire jump-overs
     50-ft. tire flip
     20 tire jump-overs
     9 legless rope climbs
     125 hang-to-overheads (95 lb.)
    Then, the other three athletes complete:
     125 hang-to-overheads (95 lb.)
     9 legless rope climbs
     20 tire jump-overs
     50-ft. tire flip
     20 tire jump-overs
     50-ft. tire flip

    Time cap: 25 minutes

    Top 10 teams will advance to the final.

     

  9. Points Available: 6 50-point events
    Location: Tennis Stadium
    Sunday afternoon

    Solo Sprint 1 (F1) and Solo Sprint 2 (M1)
    For time:
    15 muscle-ups
    10 handstand push-ups
    20-calorie bike

    Solo Sprint 3 (F2) and Solo Sprint 4 (M2)
    For time:
    13 muscle-ups
    10 handstand push-ups
    25-calorie bike

    Solo Sprint 5 (F3) and Solo Sprint 6 (M3)
    For time:
    11 muscle-ups
    10 handstand push-ups
    30-calorie bike

    Each of the six chippers will be separate events, each worth 50 points, with each team member completing the chipper. Females will perform Solo Sprint 1, Solo Sprint 3 and Solo Sprint 5, while the males will perform Solo Sprint 2, Solo Sprint 4 and Solo Sprint 6.

    Time cap: 4 minutes per section

    Event 19 will be announced after the final team member completes Solo Sprint 6. 

  10. Points Available: 100 points
    Location: Tennis Stadium
    Sunday afternoon

    For time:
    50 Worm clean and jerks

    Each team will complete 50 clean and jerks with the worm, advancing forward after every 10 reps. The event is over when the team completes the last rep and crosses the finish line.
