Three-time CrossFit Games athlete Chandler Smith was a strong favorite to win the 2022 Granite Games after a solid showing in the Open and Quarterfinals.  

But an asthma attack during the competition derailed his plans, challenging not only his physical capacity but his mental limits.

“In the Arena,” a Buttery Bros and Challenger Media House film, documents Smith’s Semifinals weekend and the struggles he faced during the competition. 

In this behind-the-scenes video, Smith shares his experience managing his asthma as a competitor and member of the U.S. Army, and he opens up about pushing through the events, despite wanting to withdraw from the competition.
