"We didn't expect the Games to be on ESPN three years after it was (at The Ranch)," Director of Training Dave Castro says. "We're paying a little respect to the land that started it all."
The Ranch Big Bob Winter Challenge invites teams of four to go to The Ranch in Aromas, Calif., to complete a team workout at the legendary home of the first three CrossFit Games.
To set the standard, a firebreathing team of CrossFit seminar trainers consisting of Jason Khalipa, Neal Maddox, Katie Hogan, and Sarah Hopping finished the workout in 25:49.
The workout:
Each athlete completes
5 Muscle-ups
5 Snatches (185/135 lbs)
Big Bob sled push
Hill run
25 Wall ball shots
Hill run
Big Bob sled push
1 Snatch (185/135 lbs)
1 Muscle-up
If athletes from your affiliate team complete the workout in less than 25:49 and beat all other affiliate teams that complete the challenge, the affiliate will have its affiliate fee waived for one year. Or, put together an all-star team to try for a cash prize.
"It's really for bragging rights," Khalipa says.
To schedule your time on The Ranch, email Dave Castro at Dave@CrossFit.com and Adrian Bozman at Adrian@CrossFit.com.
The challenge starts now and goes until January 31, 2013.
