A new reign has begun. These are the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games Fittest on Earth.

A new reign has begun.

It has been eight years since a new man, woman, and team have been crowned in the same year. Starting the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games season with just over 322,000 athletes, the pool has been narrowed down and we have found the  Fittest on Earth.

For the first time in 14 years, an international man has stood atop the podium. And the only other time a Canadian has won the CrossFit Games was in its inaugural year in 2007.

Jeffrey Adler started out the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games with a second-place finish in Test 1 — Ride. But he didn’t wear the leader’s red and white until after the 10th test of the weekend.

This would be the first time in his career he had worn the leader’s jersey, on his way to another career record. And after two top-10 finishes in the final two tests, Adler became the new Fittest Man on Earth.

The Fittest Woman on Earth: Laura Horvath

Laura Horvath has been circling gold since 2018 — she’s taken third once and second twice — and this year, the punch finally landed.

The six-time CrossFit Games veteran gave strong performances from the start with two test wins in as many days, holding fifth overall from Thursday through Friday.

Horvath started the final day of competition in second once more, 48 points behind leader Emma Lawson. By the fifth round of Muscle-up Logs — the day’s first test — she’d taken the lead she’d hold ‘til the end.

The Hungarian and new Fittest Woman on Earth earned her title with five event wins and seven top-five finishes.

The Fittest Team on Earth: CrossFit Invictus

The CrossFit Invictus team returned to the top of the podium for the first time in a decade. With three test wins, 10 top-five finishes, and no test finish outside the top 10, Invictus is taking home the gold.

Invictus last won the Affiliate Cup in 2014. In 2023, it returned to its roster from the 2022 third-place team: Devyn Kim, Brittany Weiss, Josh Al-Chamaa, and Jorge Fernandez.

Invictus’ first event win came in Saturday’s Lift Run Relay when Kim and Al-Chamaa combined for a time of 4:07 to top CrossFit Oslo Navy Blue by 5 seconds.

That began a run of three wins in four tests, also crossing the finish line first in Muscle-up Bob when they used a final push to get over the line ahead of CrossFit East Nashville PRVN.

CrossFit East Nashville PRVN claimed its first podium spot for the team, winning Olympic Total, Bike, Row, Hold, Run Lift Relay, and Handstand Worm to finish second overall.

CrossFit Oslo Navy Blue finished on the podium for a third straight year, finishing in third place. They won a pair of events — Ride Relay, and B-Bells and P-Bars.
