On Thursday, Aug. 2, there will be an Athlete Ceremony in the Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, to celebrate the diversity of the CrossFit Games. The ceremony will mark the commencement of the competition.
A parade of nations in which CrossFit Games athletes representing the individual, team, and age-group competitions will march into the Coliseum, country by country, celebrating the international scope of CrossFit.
The CrossFit Games season started with more than 416,000 athletes in the worldwide CrossFit Games Open, and that number was narrowed down to 553 athletes representing 32 different countries.
By Sunday, we'll know who is the Fittest on Earth. But the Games experience is more than just a serious competition; it’s a celebration of fitness and camaraderie. This weekend, men, women, teams, teens and masters will compete, represent their countries and their affiliates, and above all, have fun.
Following the Athlete Ceremony, fans and spectators will be invited to the competition floor to meet with the athletes and get photos and autographs.
Anyone attending the CrossFit Games can attend the ceremony. Doors open at 4 p.m.
