In this video, host Rory McKernan journeys through Madison, Wisconsin, to find the best local brews, bites and bars, selflessly sacrificing his fitness—and setting himself up for a loss against Boz in the 2018 Open—to help you have fun on the road.
“I didn’t know a lot about Madison, and I thought many of you might be in the same boat,” he says while draped across the bow of a sailboat on Lake Mendota.
Follow McKernan as he makes the trek from Lake Mendota to Lake Monona, chatting with locals, trying his hand at bull riding, and consuming his weight in beer and cheese.
Along the way, he talks with local business owners to find out how they feel about Madison's hosting of the CrossFit Games.
Matthew Stebbins of Natt Spil says he thinks “it’s great for the city,” and he looks forward to welcoming CrossFit’s “fierce competitors and even better spectators.”
Save some Zone blocks for Madtown, folks.
