Breona Wallin Hopes to Inspire Future Games Athletes

Breona Wallin, a former competitive cheerleader, knew she wanted to be a top CrossFit Games athlete as soon as she took her first class back in 2012.

Now, despite her busy schedule as an accounting manager, the six-time Regional competitor (three times as an individual and three as a team member) attends class at her affiliate, CrossFit Identity, every day.

At the 2021 West Coast Classic (WCC), Wallin had her best event finish (third place) in Legless ’13, where she bested Alessandra Pichelli’s original time of 9:33 by over three minutes. Wallin placed 11th overall in the competition.

She says she was surprised and honored when other athletes started reaching out to thank her for representing the Black community out on the competition floor. She hopes she can serve as an inspiration to future Games athletes.

She is also grateful for the CrossFit Identity community, many of whom traveled to Las Vegas to cheer her on at the WCC.

“I’m so honored that they all came out here to support me,” she says.
