Born in a town where dancing was frowned upon, Matt worked hard to hone his skills in hiding so as not to be found by the town's adults. After perfecting his craft, he received a scholarship to college, where he ultimately decided to walk on to the football team rather than pursue his first love of dance. In just a year, Matt went from walk-on to starting QB before a dirty tackle blew out his knee. Continuing his studies, he graduated magna cum laude and went to work for the FBI. Matt's second assignment partnered him with a burnt out agent in an attempt to infiltrate a group of surfers who also robbed banks while donning masks of former presidents. In the process of infiltrating the group, Matt got too close which clouded his judgement, allowing the group's leader to escape for one last wave sesh in Australia... a session that would prove to be his last. Realizing that the job was consuming him, Matt found solace as a janitor at Harvard University. That is, until one night he solved an equation that few individuals would ever be able to solve. The equation gave him the idea to form a website where friends could reconnect and keep tabs on one another. After making the website the most successful social networking program on the internet, Matt sold the site and became one of the world's richest men. At age 31, you would think Matt was content to sit on his billions and enjoy life. But, unfortunately for the CrossFit community, Matt has hired the greatest coaches known to man to coach him through the CrossFit Open and on to the CrossFit games. With Bob Knight as his motivator, Arnold Schwarzenegger as his strength coach, David Beckham as his media consultant, and Kenny Powers as his spiritual guide, Matt is set to conquer the games and add a new chapter to his book (which is already 67 chapters long). Oh, and he owns CrossFit Valley Forge.
