I am by no means an athlete in the traditional sense. My coordination for most sports is low and it took me a long time to get "decent" at both volleyball and softball. I was a runner for the longest time in my 20s but experienced a lot of joint pain in legs/hips and realized that I needed to find a way to incorporate weight training into my regimen. I was talked into crossfit a couple of years ago and discovered that it is an activity that allows me to continually improve while staying a good shape, and all the supplementary work we do alleviates joint pain and injury I've experienced with other activities. Plus, for the hard work you put into practicing everything and getting stronger, the rewards are seen almost right away and continuous which is motivating. I hope to continue improving at crossfit but especially in Olympic lifting (my favorite part of the sport).
