DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND COACH AT CROSSWINDS CROSSFIT (CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CrossFit Kids Trainer, CrossFit Weightlifting Trainer) Maple Grove Cheerleading Program Director/Coach (2006-2013) Healthcare Sales To help you understand my coaching philosophy it is important to help you understand my journey. I became a member of CrossFit gym just about two years ago. It is hard to believe what kind of shape my body was in when I first started. I had recently born our second child and couldn't even do a squat in our kitchen without falling over. But I knew I wanted to get back into shape and I knew I wanted to try what people around me were talking about. The CrossFit workouts they accomplished, the "community" they shared stories about, and the coaching they received at that hour long class, it all intrigued me. I look at those first couple of weeks and how sore I was, I had never in my life ever felt the reward of a workout like that. Fast forward to my first competition I did with my husband, Freezefest, and I can't believe how far I have come. The physical gains I have experienced, as well as the emotional triumph I feel every time I am in the gym has me feeling like this is more than a workout, it is a part of who I am. I love to see the example I am displaying for my children on how they can do anything they set their mind to. I think it is also important to share with you my experience as the Program Director and Head Cheerleading Coach at Maple Grove Senior High. I enjoyed my years as the program saw tremendous growth and as the young ladies all benefited from participating in the sport of cheerleading. It was a very rewarding time in my life and I will always hold it near and dear to me. As a coach and director of business operations, my personal experience allows me the opportunity to help those who come into the gym with little experience to find comfort in knowing I was once there too. I know what it is like to walk in and want someone to give me some direction, but let me push myself and walk out knowing I was amazing that day. The best part about coaching is seeing people amaze themselves, achieve their goals and with a little advice, a little motivation, let them experience that emotional reward of being a part of the CrossFit community.
