Last year I reached my goal of making the top 1,000 athletes in my region. After accomplishing that goal I quickly decided that next year I want to see my name in the top 750. This last summer, however, I was doing rebounding box jumps and on the last rep of the entire workout I landed and heard a pop. It was the exact same thing that happened to Julie Foucher. Later found out that I ruptured my achilles. Had surgery shortly after, which was one of the hardest things that I ever had to go through, and was told that I won't be back to "normal" until 6 months to a year. 6 weeks after the surgery I was determined to start being "active" again so went to the gym. Want to thank AKP and the couches for helping me scale workouts, really saved me from going crazy at home and speeded up my recovery. After 4 months I was back to WODing, and oh yea finally out of my boot, and started training again. Currently I have been lifting more weight than I ever had and still building my cardio back. Not saying I will be making the top 750 this year but this Open is going to be more of prove-it to myself and anyone else that with dedication and good training you can come back from anything.
