I am a 37 year old father of 3 daughters, and have been married to Kathy for 17 years. I went to work in my dad's construction company at the age of 14, right out of 8th grade because we were in a strict Mennonite setting and high school or any kind of sports was not tolerated. Two years ago my wife and I made a life changing to decision to live life the way we feel to rather than follow a strict code of rules set by others. It has been a freeing experience and quite scary at times having to make decisions for ourselves and our family is thriving. We have nothing against the Mennonites but it just wasn't for us. One of the new and scary things we did was sign up for crossfit, not really knowing what we are getting into. It has been a lot of fun and I'm in better shape than I ever have been. I look forward to competing in the games, not because I think I can win anything but for the experience and the bonding with our crossfit team. I love a good workout and the challenge of learning the moves, especially with barbells.
