I am a new CrossFitter (1.5 month), who was inspired by her co-workers last year. After CrossFit Itaim 2 opening right next to my home, I was intrigued and decided to try it out with my mom. We've always been looking for different ways to have a healthier lifestyle. She's ok on doing her regular gym exercises (we have one in the building), but I was never motivated on doing it regularly. Taking the elevator, going to the gym, jogging while listening to that fitness list created on Spotify as a way to improve my performance on the workout... This would last a couple of weeks. Where's the fun in that? Where's the motivation, the challenge, the community around you that is facing similar "pain"? I got to know all of this when I joined CrossFit. Being super honest, when I did the experimental training, I was in shock with how intense people would get on their workouts. I was never a big fan of lifting weight or doing squats. And the day after, I could barely sit on the toilet! I admit that my mom gave me a little push saying "Let's try 1 month, there's no way we can see if we enjoy it or not by one experimental class". So... we gave it a try! I embraced the CrossFit lifestyle as much as I could: clean eating, proper sleep, having resting days, giving more attention to my body's needs... And now, of course I am no muscle-woman, but feels nice to see the changes in my body during the process of getting (at least trying to get) lean. And all of this came with the motivation of the people in my box. The coaches are amazing. The athletes I have as inspiration are people who have shown me that having a professional life and being dedicated to CrossFit at the same time is possible. So, to keep me as part of this community (and also track my improvements throughout the years), I registered myself in the GAMES. Thank you, Paloma Giuliani
