Team Event 8, Team Swim Paddle, required team members to each complete a 1,000-m swim and a 1,000-m paddle on Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, on Sunday. The team's score would be the sum of each team member's time. At the end of the event, the team field was cut to the top five.
