This year’s Open will require a lot of effort if you want to do your best, but it won’t require a lot of equipment. Most CrossFit affiliates will be well equipped to host the workouts.* And most CrossFit athletes will agree that doing the workouts at an affiliate is the best way to experience the CrossFit Open.
* Etiquette tip: Always contact the affiliate first if you’re looking to drop in, especially during the Open.
If you don’t have access to a CrossFit affiliate this season, you can always band together with your closest friends, gather all the equipment you’ll need in someone’s garage, and get moving that way. CrossFit has deep roots in garages, driveways, parks, warehouses — you name the place, and you can bet we’ve gotten fitter together there.
