ESPN Coverage of 2023 Games FAQ
August 3, 2023
CrossFit Games on ESPN: You’ve got questions, we have answers.
Q: Why are you back on ESPN?
A: Being on ESPN allows CrossFit’s athletes to showcase their fitness on the very highest stage and will introduce the sport to millions of people who just might be inspired to visit an affiliate themselves.
Q: Does the ESPN announcement mean I can’t see my favorite events in the U.S. without a subscription?
A: No. You’ll still be able to watch them live on Games.CrossFit.com, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch, with the exception of exclusive ESPN windows. Coverage during those windows will be available on Games.CrossFit.com, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch the following morning.
Q: What does “exclusive window” mean? How long are those windows?
A: Exclusive windows on ESPN last for two hours. During those time periods, live coverage of individual and team events in the U.S. will only air on ESPN or ESPN2 (plus ESPN+).
Q: When are the exclusive windows happening each day?
A: Thursday: 3-5 p.m. ET on ESPN2; Friday: 7-9 p.m. ET on ESPN; Saturday: 4-6 p.m. ET on ESPN; Sunday: 4-6 p.m. on ESPN2.
Q: How will the ESPN deal affect my ability to watch outside the U.S.?
A: It won’t. International viewers will have access to all of the same content as U.S. viewers, and will be able to enjoy the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games on Games.CrossFit.com, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. View the section "Watch Online (International Viewers)" for more information.
