Surprise, again!

Surprise, again!

Surprise, again! Saturday's Individual Events for Regional competition have just been released. Day 2 of the three-day event for Individuals only can be found on the Regional Event page. No team events have been announced yet.

Event 4
For time:
100 Wall balls (20 / 14 lbs to a 10’ target)
100 Chest-to-bar Pull-ups
100 One-legged squats, alternating
100 One-arm dumbbell snatches, alternating (70 / 50 lbs)

Event 5
21-15-9 reps for time of:
Deadlift (315 / 205 lbs)
Box jump (30 / 24 inch)

Individual athletes will take on two more events Saturday and both are reminiscent of events from the 2011 Regionals

Remember the 100s chipper? It's back, but bolder. Athletes will try to complete 100 reps of wall balls, chest-to-bar pull-ups, pistols (alternating legs) and one-arm dumbbell snatches (alternating arms), all within a 25-minute time cap.

And, in addition to the classic benchmark workout, Jackie on Friday, the Regionals now have a different kind of benchmark. Saturday's second event is a repeat of the Individual Deadlift/Box Jump Event from the 2011 Regionals. The workout is 21-15-9 of deadlift (315/205 pounds) and box jump (30/24 inches). Now, we get to see how much of the field has improved in two short years. In 2011, Austin Malleolo had the world record time of 2:56 for men, and Annie Thorisdottir had the world record time of 2:57 for women.

Regionals begin in just 10 days. Stay tuned on the CrossFit Games site for all the action, features and stories related to the competition.
