What Hurricane Ida Destroyed, CrossFit KOP Built Back

“The community builds everyone up and builds the affiliate up. Even in some of the darkest and lowest times — you feel you’re not alone. Someone’s there to help you lighten your load.”

Hearing members of CrossFit King of Prussia (CrossFit KOP) praise co-owner Aimee Lyons, it’s no surprise they would want to reciprocate her dedication, generosity, and kindness.

After Hurricane Ida destroyed the Pennsylvania-based affiliate, members of CrossFit KOP banded together to restore and give back to a community they felt had given them so much.

They helped clean up the aftermath of the devastating hurricane, and one member even set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to replace damaged equipment and repair the building. When Lyons received donations from all over the world, it was then that she realized the power of the CrossFit community.

“I never in my wildest dreams realized the impact that CrossFit KOP has had on the outer community,” Lyons said. “That really was amazing to see the outreach of the community and how they were able to help this little, small business.”
