I am a late bloomer. Other than playing softball in high school I was not active in sports. After having my two sons, I was feeling lethargic, sick, depressed, and generally unhealthy so I started strength training in a gym at my office in my mid-30’s. This was an alternative to anti-depressants my doctor wanted to prescribe. I haven’t looked back. I took up surfing and snowboarding at the age of 40. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2009 and was instantly hooked. I opened a box in 2010, which I owned for 4 years until 2014 when other life priorities took me away from ownership. I've trained alone with no coach in my garage since then. The closest box is 30 min away and hey I work full time so have to fit it in when I can! After competing in the Games 2016 through 2018 it’s time for a break to focus on growth in other areas. Nothing left to learn here. It was an amazing experience and maybe I’ll be back, but am now spending my energy to grow and learn in other areas. Life is short!
