Heidi Nelson has been an athlete her entire life. She has competed at the State and National level in Volleyball, Softball, Swimming, Cheerleading, and Weightlifting. Heidi went on to receive an athletic scholarship to play college volleyball at UNC-Pembroke. There, she developed a love for strength training and conditioning. Heidi was one of those athletes that would stop by the weight room in between classes, and even stay at school during the summer session to learn and develop her strength and become a better athlete. Weightlifting reminds her of those years throughout high school and college, training hard as an individual and as a team, pushing herself and others out of their comfort zone to better themselves. Heidi helped her husband Keith run Port City CrossFit (2010-2018) where she developed a love for weightlifting and nutrition. In 2020 she got married. 2021 had a son, Rory J Nelson. Jan 2024 had another son, Sky T. Nelson. Heidi is currently an athlete and a coach at SeaCoast CrossFit in Wilmington, NC.
