Competing in the 'Open' is a natural extension of my desire to be fit. It is a tremendous benchmark of where I am, and of course where I will be. I am 45, turning 46, this year, so fitness has taken on a whole new meaning. A high 'quality-of-life,' physically, is part of why I compete. While it is very satisfying to see where I place, in the world, my real passion is being part of a Team. Whether that is my Crossfit Box, whether it is with friends I've developed in crossfit or even just a 'fist-bump' from the competitor next to me - I love it. I have said it many times, "I wish I had Crossfit growing up." The bottom-line is, its real fitness, its good people and its fun. One more thing, while I have no illusions I will make it to the 'Games' this year and I am doing it for fun ... I still want to win ;) That's why I compete !
