I'm a teacher, a principal, and a Crossfit Level-1 Trainer at Crossfit Defined in Chicago, IL. Selfishly, I compete because it forces me to push myself out of my comfort zone and because it makes me feel like a badass. However (and certainly more importantly), I compete to show my students that a woman can be as strong and as fierce as she wants to be, that failures provide opportunities for growth and incredible success, and that they should never be afraid to let their talents shine through. Crossfit has given me so much. Competing is my way of giving back.
