I have been doing CrossFit now since 2015, the very first workout I did was Helen and it took me 45 minutes to finish. I had to strap up with my power lifting belt to get through the KB swings and it really got me addicted to the sport because it pushed me beyond what I thought was possible. I was introduced to CrossFit on youtube watching the 2013 Games and the Clean and Jerk ladder. Watching those guys, especially Rich Froning, and Chris Spealler move so much weight at such a modest body weight was what sold me on CrossFit. I was so used to the idea of having to be huge in order to move weight, and then losing some endurance and metabolic conditioning in the process. Then enter CrossFit and I can have everything I want, and the variety is exactly what I wanted in an exercise methodology. I compete in CrossFit because I truly enjoy the competitive spirit within my box, as well as the CrossFit community. Being able to see my scores measured against the entire community around the world is humbling as well as motivating. I am truly a competitive person inside and out, and I love cheering on others during a WOD, as well as outside the box. As a coach I believe it is important to compete alongside your athletes because you should practice what you preach. I truly Love CrossFit and what it has done in my life, and I would recommend that everyone give it a shot and 9 time out of 10 I firmly believe that they will have a good experience. I also believe that every CrossFit athlete should register for the Open. You dont have to expect to win in order to register, its great to compete, and gives your training some purpose to it as well. Thank you CrossFit, and the CrossFit Games for bringing this to the forefront of fitness as well as championing the strength and camaraderie of the CrossFit Community.
