I began and continue to Invest time energy and resources in CrossFit because I believe in the notion that we are able to take athletes from where they are and help them move towards where they want to be. That we are able to make everyone better if they let us. It is an environment that breeds community if you allow it. It is one place where your effort is positively correlated to your results. If you come in consistently, work hard and focus on you, you will improve. It is that simple. If you don't, you won't. There will always be someone faster, better, stronger, more special than you are. Who cares? There is also always someone slower, less proficient, weaker and less special. Again, who cares? Neither of those people have any bearing on you, your current abilities or what you are capable of. Use the energy spent worrying about others on you and you may just find the athlete you are looking for. We use effort as a marker of value in this community. Be the hardest worker in the room! Everyone loves that guy! If you work as hard as you are able to work in that moment you are applauded. If you show up, be vulnerable and transparent you will find the support, the community that is CrossFit. If you skip reps, shave rounds or work just inside of the lines it does not go unnoticed. First is not valued if you only gave 90%. CrossFit is above all one fitness module among many. It is a means to an end and a way to reach your goals and become a better version of yourself. Allow it to be.
