My name is Michael Such. I am 28 years old. I'll get right to it. I played football at The University of Tulsa. I was the starting punter for all four years. I had private workouts with the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts. I had great workouts but the ball just didn't roll my way. The following year, I decided to give the NFL one more shot. I was going to attend a combine workout in Houston, TX. I needed a gym that allowed me to do power, Olympic movements. Power cleans, hang Snatch, box jumps and anything else that allowed that style of lifting. I had a buddy of mine say something about a crossfit gym here in Tulsa. I was against what Crossfit was doing at first. I was against the style of Olympic lifting and cardio mixed with it. Well, three years later, I met my wife in the Crossfit gym and I have never been healthier, stronger, or more lean in my life. I was not the most aesthetic athlete when I got done with football. I was 225 lbs, 14% body fat, pre diabetic and I had decent strength but my technique was not up to par and my cardio was dog crap. I am now 208, 11% body fat, not a prediabetic and my lean muscle mass is higher than it was when I was 225 lbs. I am bought in to the whole thing. Some of my best friends are the people I have met in the gym. We do multiple activities on a weekly basis with each other. I could not imagine doing anything else. Let's just say that I am drinking the crossfit koolaid. I am constantly reading and watching things to make me not only a better cross fitter but a better man. Crossfit has helped me become a better husband, brother, son, friend, step dad, weight lifter and competitor. My coach at TU told me "you're either gettin' better or you're gettin' worse. No one stays the same. Get better today." That mindset is what I have in and out of the gym and crossfit has motivated me to get better everyday. I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank you Crossfit.
