I was never very athletic growing up. Started exercising more “later on” in life and CF came into my life in 2012 after job layoff and recommended by a friend that told me that would be the best way to train for Tough Mudder. It also helps me gets stronger for my yearly trips to Memphis, TN to participate in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend. Aside from that I have found HIIT training to be very effective and moreso mixing in a couple days a week of CF. I consider myself a charity athlete as specific causes whether I’m raising funds or awareness are my biggest motivation. Also, honoring those who have fought or are fighting for their lives and to top it off it’s awesome to feel strong and as long as Im healthy I feel I should keep moving! The Open is a totally new experience for me and I’m very grateful to be a part of it! I think it would be super cool if they added a scaled event to the games just to give those others a chance to get that feeling of competition and then aspire to Be More!
