I currently live in Manteo, North Carolina with my two dogs just thirty minutes from where on I was raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Growing up, I was a multi-sport athlete playing basketball and softball until I started college at East Carolina University. I started to explore the world of weightlifting in college and in graduate school. Alongside teaching yoga, I was hoping to build strength and overall confidence as I navigated academics for nearly six years. Just before my 24th birthday, I recognized that there was one thing that was truly holding me back -- my drinking. Since becoming sober in January of 2020, I been an active creator in a life that once never seemed possible. About a year into my sobriety, I got serious about my weight training and, in the middle of COVID, I built a home gym and started to get to work. After training for about six months, a good friend brought me to a CrossFit class for the first time in June of 2021 and once again, everything changed. What started as a supplement to my lifting quickly turned into my training regimen and I'm a full-time trainer at Roanoke Island Fitness Lab. Fitness has become my greatest passion and the dream is to become a competitive athlete in the sport that allowed me to become the best version of myself.
