Andy Angstrom
Andy grew up in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, he spent his time splashing in streams, exploring deep gorges, and climbing the branches of the colorful deciduous canopy. With both parents being teachers, he realized at an early age the test-based learning environment of public school was not optimal for his learning style. He therefore looked forward to the long summers with family developing a sense of curiosity and adventure while traveling the terrain in the state and national parks of North America. After four years at University, the gravity of Wyoming’s wildness and open spaces pulled him to discover the topography of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and the abiotic and biotic wonders it includes. Now as a husband of twelve years to his beautiful bride, Margot, and a father of two children, Angus (3rd grade) and Brooke (2nd grade), he has found the need to facilitate their passion-for-life and love-to-learn within the Flatirons of Colorado. Along this journey, he has picked up masters degrees in Science Education, Experiential Learning, and a BS in Physics and Mathematics which combined with his passion to teach has allowed him to create engaging integrated curriculum and develop experiential learning environments that help bring curiosity and engagement indoors as well as out of doors.
