I started crossfit about 8 months ago and coming from 15 years of competitive swimming, crossfit was a hug change. I was a distance athlete my entire life, only ever dealing with my own body weight and the resistance of the water. I was around 120lbs with very little body fat or muscle. I had recently completed my four years of eligibility with my college team and needed to find a way to expel my competitive energy in a productive way when my boyfriend pointed me to Crossfit Highperformance where I found a new team of friends to workout with, hang out with and work together to achieve our goals. I remember my first crossfit class I couldn't even finish the WOD, it was some kind of AMRAP, I ran out of the gym and barfed on the ground. That didn't stop me from coming back though. I leaned the Olympic moves, I learned how to handle additional weight (starting with that 15# bar only:)) and now I look forward to crazy WODs and heavy(ish) weights.
