I was asked why do I do this thing called Crossfit and this open competition thing....well this says it all.. Im back in the open after a long hiatus due to a family tragedy, injury and coviid. i've found a new affiliate, a new residence and path and ive realized I'm competing for myself, to bring my life into focus and also for my daughter who will never be able to fulfill her dreams. I compete for my youngest daughter, for her to see dad and his friends; that are strong, healthy, driven people of all types that love the same thing - being active! I want her to live her life like this. I compete for sanity, lives and love that i have lost, i compete to prove to myself i can and that life is worth living everyday - with purpose, intensity and passion. I compete for the family and friends that have supported me and for the community that i am working myself into. I compete for the sheer joy of being present and let people see that - here is to the crossfit community- no goals or results planned ... just joy in being present! Day at a time...
