Long story short: When I was in my sophomore year of college, I found out that I had Type II Diabetes--and that, in order to control my insulin production and continue as an athlete, I would have to drop my weight significantly. Up until this time, I had been 295 pounds, and, at 5'8", this was obviously overweightAbout a year and a half later, I had reached my goal--I was now 180 pounds, and had absolutely no trace of Type II Diabetes. I currently am working as an assistant athletic director at an international school in Japan! I coach football, wrestling, and track. I also help with strength training and PE classes.
