Drug Test Update — 2023 Semifinals

Jason Smith — the first-place finisher at the 2023 Africa Semifinal — provided a sample at the competition that contained exogenous 5a-androstane-3a,17b-diol (5aAdiol) and 5b-androstane-3a,17b-diol (5bAdiol). He is appealing this result.

 

Smith is provisionally suspended pending the outcome of his appeal and will not be allowed to compete at the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games.

 

An invitation to the Games has been extended to Africa Semifinal second-place finisher Conrad Winnertz. He has declined the invitation due to an injury.
