I first stumbled across CrossFit in 2007 while I was a PTI in the Air Force and dabbled with it for a while before committing to it 100%. I competed at Regionals in 2010-2011-2012 before the rest of the field got too good for me to keep up! I am now pretty much the Kenny Powers of CrossFit. I own Coastal CrossFit Queensland with my wife Marie - our affiliate is now in it's 8th year.

How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I suppose you could say I eat paleo + dairy. Sometimes I drink beer, lots of beer.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I write my own programming

I record my workouts

I follow the workout of the day for our gym (Coastal CrossFit) and nowadays train mostly for general fitness and enjoyment.

My Athletic Background

I have no athletic background besides CrossFit

I have no formal athletic background. I grew up riding motocross bikes for fun and never really did spectacularly at anything.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I train other people

Been doing CrossFit since 2007. It still keeps ticking the boxes for me even after all this time.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years

I found CrossFit in 2007 and cherry picked the WOD's that I liked in combination with a typical bodybuilding weight regime until I realised that this was stupid. I have wholly done CrossFit since then and at 36 years old continue to improve in all areas.
