How I Eat
I weigh and measure my food
I Zone my meals, and I'd say I'm 80% paleo (I avoid grains but kill some dairy).
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I write my own programming
I record my workouts
I own CrossFit Clayton and do my WODs there. I'll either hit them up during off hours or occasionally with class. I usually train solo.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I played college sports
I played football, wrestling and baseball in high school. When I got to college, I wrestled one year in the NCWA at 165 lbs and placed 2nd nationally. After that year my sport in college became beer pong.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)
I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course
I train other people
I heard about CF while training at a MMA gym in Grove City, OH. I dragged my feet but finally tried my first WOD about a year afterwards and was hooked. That was in May 2008. I trained by myself in a globo gym and competed against my best friend who lives in NY via email. Once I moved to North Carolina I decided to get my CFL1 Cert and about a year after that I opened my own affiliate.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week
I strictly schedule my rest days
Running a large box and having a family has demanded most of my free time and unfortunately I do not get to train as often as I did a few years ago when I was competing. However, if things work out I'll be hitting it hard leading up to Regionals.
