CrossFit Games athletes span the full spectrum, but they've got a few things in common: they're all insanely fit, young and on Instagram.

Side Note

When you go through all 80 Instagram accounts, you may notice commonalities in the text at the top of the page. Many write about their:

1. Sponsors (67 percent)
2. Accomplishments in the sport (59 percent)
3. Profession or the university they're attending (32 percent)
4. CrossFit affiliate (31 percent)
5. Personal motto (27 percent)
6. Religious beliefs (20 percent)
7. Age (11 percent)

All of the athletes who posted their religious beliefs are from the United States. Some mentioned, "God," "Faith," "Christ," or "Jesus" (Sam Dancer tagged @Jesus), while others picked a bible verse.

Ben Smith, Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Travis Mayer, Philippians 4:13
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Tasia Percevecz, Corinthians 16:14
"Do everything in love."

Jacob Anderson, Ephesians 1:3-10
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ ...

Add to that list Rich Froning's tattoo of Galatians 6:14 ("May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."), and it appears that many Christian CrossFit competitors want to publicly express their gratitude to their higher power.

The athletes who noted their age on Instagram are on average four years younger than the average Games competitor (22 vs. 26). There's something remarkable about being this good when so young, with no one having more youthful bragging rights than 19-year-old Games qualifier Madeline Sturt.

Some have mottos.
