What was your favorite live CrossFit Open announcement?
Dave Castro announced the first CrossFit Open workout live in 2013 at CrossFit Vitality in North Carolina. Fan favorites Scott Panchik and Dan Bailey went head-to-head in burpees and snatches.
Since then, live Open announcements with Castro have kicked off the start of the CrossFit Games season and become a tradition the community anticipates every year.
For a couple of years, others in the CrossFit community, including Competition Director Adrian Bozman, released Open workouts in Castro’s stead. In 2024, Castro made a special appearance to announce Open Workout 24.1.
