How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

We did a 30 day Paleo challenge in October last year. Since then I have eating as cleanly as I can. 95% reduction in Dairy/Grains/Legumes and I have been feeling very good for it. I sleep better, my gut likes me and my overall recovery from training is way better than it used to be.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I regularly train five days per week at CrossFit Plus. I have lifted my training to six days per week since early January in preparation for the Open

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played a lot of sport and different sports when I was younger. Soccer, Cricket, Hockey, Basketball, Tennis and did some martial arts along the way. I went off track along the way and it took me a while to get back on board with taking better care of myself.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I started CrossFit very casually in conjunction to working out at a local globo gym. I was overweight at 106kg and smoking about a packet of 25 a day. I started losing weight and when my contract was up with globo I decided I wanted to take my CrossFit experience to another level. Even then I had to stop smoking, find an affiliate closer to home and apply myself. Since then I have stopped smoking, lost 26kg and feel pretty good about myself as a result.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I have had some good results and even then I have to admire the guys and girls who are leading the way for the work they must put in to stay out in front.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years

The first twelve months I was going to a CrossFit Affiliate on Saturdays only. The affiliate is owned by the son of a friend of mine and is about an hours drive from home. When I knew I wanted to compete and so had to train more I migrated to CrossFit Norwest in April 2011. In 2015 my wife and I relocated to the Central Coast NSW and I began training with CrossFit Plus. I was made to feel like one of the family from the get go and though it did take me some time, personally, to adjust to my new tribe I have had some great times and feel very much at home now.
