To be bluntly honest I was a very sloth like teenager w/ a high metabolism & no desire to make healthy choices. That lifestyle continued on into adulthood until I became a mom. My metabolism slowed, my energy took a hit, & so did my body. I began to exercise slowly, w/ a jogging stroller or a bike trailer. Eventually I joined a gym. I was becoming a role model for my son. Now in my 30’s I am in the best shape of my life doing things I never imagined were possible. I first experienced CrossFit while I was in Personal Training School, & found it again a year later. After going through Yoga Training I felt as though what I learned as a CPT was just not what our bodies needed. Using machines for X amount of reps & X sets seemed so superficial. When I started CrossFitting it was as though a light bulb came on. CrossFit is functional, & the benefits transfer to all aspects of my life. Recently I was inspired by a little girl at 810 that can kip like no one’s business. Wishing I had that introduction to fitness I became a CrossFit Kids Coach, striving to make that opportunity available to the children of our community.CF-L1, CFit Kids Trainer, CPT, RYT, Water Fitness Instructor, & Aqua Yoga Teacher
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I eat a vegetarian diet that is Paleo influenced (gluten free). Sometimes I eat peskitarian (fish), but I haven't done so since December. I try to make the best choice in the moment, and not stress too much if I am not 100% perfection all the time, because that isn't healthy either.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I have a coach who determines my programming
I record my workouts
I mostly follow the WODs that Coach Joe DeGain programs at 810. Sometimes I will do my own WODs solo.
My Athletic Background
I regularly play recreational sports
Yoga, 5k/Obstacle Course Runner, Rollerblader, SUP'r (stand up paddle board). I am intrigued by parkour and would like to explore it soon!
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course
I have attended one or more specialty courses
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
