Athlete: Jonathan Globerman
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week
My diet is paleo based, but not completely paleo. I focus on eating real whole foods 3-4 meals per day composed of fruits and greens, complex carbs and a healthy fat centered around a protein source. I am not strict paleo as i add in 1-2 servings of low glycemic grains as needed.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I have been doing crossfit for almost 4 years now. I use the crossfit methodology and classes as the foundation of my training and to build my fitness, but participate in other HIIT classes, sports and challenges regularly.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I regularly play recreational sports
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
Crossfit has played an integral part in changing the direction of my life. I have always been active, practiced a generally healthy lifestyle and been in relatively good shape , but adding in the community component to fitness made me realize that centering my adult life (personal and professional) around health and wellness was what i needed to do in order to serve my purpose. Seeing the amount of people who's lives were dramatically changed for the better by becoming healthier is what ultimately made me want to try and be a part of that process and change my personal goals.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I exercise for optimal health, rather than optimal performance. So my training is based around making sure to tax my system enough to get stronger from both a strength and cardiovascular stand point, while minimizing my exposure to potential injury. Although i love measuring my growth as an "athlete", i am a recreational athlete and make sure to take rest as needed.
