I have wanted to qualify for the Games since I discovered CrossFit over 7 years ago. I have competed in every Open and at 48 I set a goal, when I turned 50 that would be my year I qualified for the Games. Finishing in 21st place in 2013 was devastating but it gave me the desire to push harder to reach my goal. In 2014 I was 18th In the Open and finished 8th in the first Masters Qualifier. Making it to the Games in 2014 finishing 17th was a great experience and worth all the training. Meeting all the great athletes at the Games made the time even better. My training for the 2015 Games was great I was more fit than last year and I was feeling ready for the Open. Then came 15.1 and 15.1a wow I was in 141st place and thought my chances were slim to none to make the Games. After the Masters Qualifier shook out I ended up in 22nd place. I finished up nicely, pleased with my effort but not the results. After some spots opening up I am in the last qualifying spot. So after all the hard work and dedication and the support of my family and friends at MTM I am going to the 2015 CrossFit Games. Now it is 2018 I have been out of competition for two years and I am the young one in the 55 age group. I am looking forward to the Open and who knows I just my might make another run at the Games.
