A pretty much regular guy who's been the recipient of oodles of blessings, and who is grateful to be. The really groovy thing about the Crossfit affilate/coaches/classes with whom I am connected is the positive energy and spirit that flows from all of them. I am strengthened and inspired by each. The crossfit community has enabled a good measure of stability on the physical leg of the Spiritual/mental/physical tripod of life. It has also boosted the Spiritual and mental legs. Even now, it'll be fun to be competing in sports again, and I'm really looking forward to the open.
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
Mostly paleo (80%) of late (last 2 months). Strategic food grouping prior (about 2 months). Generally quality foods before then (5 plus years), though not always rigorously.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I have a coach who determines my programming
Currently, 2 days (hours) per week in Crossfit classes, 2 days (hours) per week with corssfit coach in PFT.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
Youth sports (baseball, footbal, basketball, track and field) sports, high school sports (football, track and field), younger years recreational sports/activities (football, baseball, water skiing, snow skiing, mountatnin biking), and recent years recreational sports (triathlons, kayaking, crossfit). Other outdoor activites fairly routine. TIcking perhaps slower, but still ticking!
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I suppose I was one of the earliest students at the Crossfit Central affiliate in Austin, as the co-founder of that affiliate (Carey Kepler) had in years past trained me in circuits, spining, kick-boxing, weight lifting, pilates, swimming, running, biking, and triathlons prior to learning of crossfit. They were good prep for citizenship in the community of fitness.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
The employment work of course consumes my (long) days, and the rest /sleep at night is usually a little shy of what it sould be. The crossfit workouts, though, are THE main and most effective stress release/consumers that I have found... a great thing that allows me to stay energetic in the employment.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Pretty much since it began in the Texas region. I was younger and could do more then!
