I'm a former Marine, and have only been doing CrossFit for 2 months. I love it, and even though everything I do right now is totally scaled, I want to see where I place the world over.
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
My Athletic Background
I have no athletic background besides CrossFit
I regularly play recreational sports
I was never an athlete, unless you count the mandatory PT in the Marine Corps. For the last 3 years, I have done some recreational and low-level competition horseback riding, specifically barrel racing.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
I tried some CrossFit style workouts at a globo-gym with a personal trainer. I fell in love, and took his advice to go to a CrossFit box he was interning at. I made the switch in November of 2013 and have never looked back!
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
My rest days are every Sunday, and that's about it. I do listen to my body, and if I am too wore out, I will take a rest day as needed. However, I do try to stick to a good schedule and push myself outside my comfort zone -- just as long as I am safe about it.
