I was an army brat growing up, my father retired as a Master Sgt. at Ft. Stewart GA. I was a lifeguard at the Ft. Stewart pool, which is where I met my wonderful husband. He is a retired Colonel from the Army and we have two daughters. Our oldest, Katherine, works with the Defense Logistics Agency to support our troops and our youngest, Kelly, is a 1st Lt. stationed at Landstuhl Germany. Go Army! Before starting Crossfit my fitness journey was erratic. My daughter Kelly was competitive in Judo and after a year of me sitting on the sidelines watching, I got on the mat for fitness. I was able to obtain a brown belt before we moved again with the Army. Throughout the years I would occasionally sign up for a 10k run, to force me to work out. It wasn't until June 2013 that my daughter Kelly talked me into going with her to Crossfit Fairfax. Needless to say, I enjoyed the daily challenge and family environment that Crossfit presents. Crossfit has helped me to become more disciplined and committed to my personal fitness and I love my Crossfit family. In December 2013, I started personal programming with Trainer Justin Zubriki in Leesburg Virginia. Justin helped me build strength and conquer the gymnastic movements. He continues to coach me today.
