I was an army brat growing up, my father retired Master Sgt. at Ft. Stewart GA. I swam on the recreational swim team at Ft. Stewart while growing up and swam my first semester at Georgia Southern College. I was lifeguard at the pool at Ft. Stewart, which is where I my husband at the pool. He is a retired Colonel from the Army, we have two daughters the oldest Katherine Binder McGinness works with the Defense Logistic Agency at Fort Belvoir, VA and Kelly Binder is a 1st Lt. stationed at Landstuhl Germany. "Go Army" My daughter Kelly was competitive in Judo, after a year sitting on the side of the mat watching her practice judo, I got on the mat for fitness. I was able to obtain a brown belt before we moved again with the Army. I would occasionally through out the years sign up for a 10k run, to force me to work out. In June 2014 my daughter Kelly talked me into going with her to Crossfit Fairfax. Needless to say, I enjoyed the daily challenge that crossfit presents, which has motivated me to stick with it. Crossfit has helped me to become more disciplined and committed to my personal fitness.
